In a response to [personal profile] liv's encouragement to people to switch over to Dreamwidth I've imported my journal and am cross posting between the two platforms.

I've seen blogs on other websites which are joint endeavours but where only the small group of contributors can post to the blog but anyone can comment on it. Is this possible on DW? I guess the way to do it would be to have a community in which non-members have posting rights but posts are moderated and it is made clear that only the core group's posts will be approved.

I think I'll either switch over completely when my LJ paid account is up for renewal or when a critical mass of my friends switch over.

I'm still a bit confused about how all of this will work with communities. Will duplicates just appear on DW or will communities move over or will there be different communities on each. Probably a bit of all of these.

Hmm, I think I may have found a 'bug'. I tried to edit my interests but it wouldn't let me because it kept saying that I claimed to be from the US even though I hadn't. I'm not sure if that counts as a bug or if I'm doing something wrong.

Edit: It looks to have been sorted out now.
