Sewing class

Yesterday, in my continued quest for self improvement, I went to a sewing class. The class was in the Jesus Lane Shop as part of The Stitch Up. This weeks class was on seems, zips and hems. The class was very useful, so much so that when I came home I undertook a sewing task I had been planning for a while. I have a linen skirt which is a smidgen too skirt for me to wear in public. This is mainly because I don't really believe in ironing. Anyway, a bought half a metre of Amy Butler jasmine/natural fabric and sewed a 18cm strip of fabric to the bottom of the underskirt of my skirt, using my newly learned skills to make nice French seems. I haven't properly hemmed it yet because I couldn't be bothered last night. I've folded it over and stitched it at the bottom and haven't decided yet whether to do a proper posh hand stitched hem, or just fold it over again and machine it.
